One of the candidates specifically asked me to do a write up about each of the candidates on the ballot. I chose not to write any type of blog post about my impressions because I am happy to admit that I don’t I have the same perspective as everybody else and I don’t want to change that. However, I am happy to do a google search and share any information that I think voters might want to know. So, to any readers, please take this for what it is- information to help you in your decision making process. Here are some additional links to help you gather information;

Starting at the top:
Gregory Carlile:
Greg owns his own company- Lift Up Concrete.
I wrote a facebook post yesterday about an open lawsuit that he currently has with the city of Kaysville.
The only thing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search is this news story from when the lawsuit was filed back in May of 2018.
https://ksltv.com/395173/neighbors-file-lawsuit-project-took-trees/
Andre Lortz:
Andre is the CFO of Maverick and was previously CFO of FJ Management (parent company of Maverick) and CFO of Big West Oil.
He is currently serving on the Kaysville Technical Advisory Committee and has handled much of the accounting side of the exploratory phase of looking to bring fiber internet to Kaysville. https://www.kaysvillecity.com/705/Kaysville-Fiber-To-The-Home-Project
The only thing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search is this news story about Andre receiving the Richard’s Institute Ethical Leadership Award from Weber State University in 2016.
https://www.weber.edu/WSUToday/111116_RichardsAward.html
Zane Larsen:
Zane has worked in software development for 12 years.
There was nothing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search. From interacting with him through the year and meeting with him for the interview, I can say with confidence that Zane is against most government spending except for essential services like police, fire and water.
John Swan Adams
John worked for 14 years as a Sales Manager for Jody Wilkinson Acura in Salt Lake City. For the last 3 years he has worked for Medtronic in the medical sales industry.
He is currently serving on the board for Davis Applied Technology College as a board member.
There was nothing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search. However, since may people commonly ask if he is related to Councilman Dave Adams, I will tell you that he is 3rd cousins with the current council member but does not wish to have his candidacy tied to the other Adams on the ballot.
David Adams
Dave started his own business in the construction industry at the age of 26, specializing in the excavation sector.
Dave is a current city council member who was elected in 2015. He served as a council liaison with the public works department for the first couple of years on the council. He was removed from this post due to Mayor Hiatt feeling like there was overreach occurring in his liaison capacity.
A google search came up with SO many pertinent news stories:

To summarize, Councilmember Adams made news for using city funds to repair his personal firetruck. A state audit found that funds were used inappropriately and (with the help of supporters) the repair money was paid back to the city. There are MANY more details to the story and I would encourage you to reach out to Councilmember Adams if you are interested. During his tenure the Councilmember has also been censured and formally asked to resign due to extortion charges that are still pending. He was recently removed from a meeting due to derogatory comments.
Mike Blackham
Mike recently retired from Kaysville City as the Building Official and firefighter after 34 years.
He is currently serving as the Kaysville representative to the Davis Mosquito Abatement Board for the last 16 years.
The only thing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search is this news story about the Mike being the project manger for the Kaysville City Police Station; “A lot of research went into this. This wasn’t an overnight deal,” said Blackham, who as project manager on the Kaysville Police Station visited 10 other police stations in order to research what it should include.
Caleb Stroh
Caleb owns his own company- Critter Control
I wrote a facebook post yesterday about an open lawsuit that he currently has with the city of Kaysville.
The only thing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search is this news story from when the lawsuit was filed back in May of 2018.

Tim Hodges
Tim is employed as an attorney with the State of Utah. He previously served in the United States Marines and upon return, attended law school at the University of Minnesota. He has lived in Utah for about a year and a half.
A google search brought up Tim’s responses to the Utah Cultural Alliance candidate questions: https://www.utahculturalalliance.org/timothy
He is also mentioned in conjunction with a recent news story about a local HOA asking the city to take over their land.

Stroh DeCaire
Stroh is currently an engineer for the Utah Education Network, providing high speed internet, telephone service, and distance education opportunities to all of Utah’s 41 public school districts, charter schools, libraries, and other governmental entities across the state. He spent 14 years in the defense industry as an active duty member of the United States Air Force and as a civilian working for Lockheed Martin in electronic warfare.
Stroh was appointed to the city council in June of 2018. He has served on the Technology Advisory Committee and has the assigned responsibilities of the Power Department, Economic Development Team, USU Botanical Center Liaison and Youth Court.
The only thing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search is this link regarding Stroh being the chair of the Davis County Democrats.

Brett Tarbox
Brett is a self described “IT geek” at University of Utah Health.
He is currently serving on the Kaysville Technical Advisory Committee looking to bring fiber internet to Kaysville. https://www.kaysvillecity.com/705/Kaysville-Fiber-To-The-Home-Project
There was nothing of significance that pulled up on the first page of his google search.
Tami Tran
Tami is the co-owner of Rylex, a Certified Federal Government contractor specializing in network support, software development, database development, professional, administrative and management support services.
She is currently serving on the Kaysville Planning Commission.
There was nothing of significance that pulled up on the first page of her google search.
And that is a wrap. Let me know if you have any questions.
