Hello Kaysville Friends-
I need your help. A few months back, before deciding to run for city council, I volunteered to head up the Annual Water Parade for this year’s 4th of July Festivities. The parade is quickly approaching and our water parade needs more entries. So, I am reaching out to you all to implore your participation. If you are part of a group (youth group, service group, school group, business, anything really), we would love to have you join in on our official parade route.
The water parade is held after the “dry” portion of the 4th of July Parade and goes down about a half mile of the parade route. You can have as many people from your group participate as you would like. Generally, groups will fill a truck bed/boat/fire truck/etc. with coolers of water and have participants use the water to refill water guns and shooters as they go down the parade route. You can also use water trucks or any other form of water apparatus to which you have access. You can put signs and banners on your vehicle to decorate in any way that you would like (keeping in mind that whatever you put up will end up wet). The city is happy to provide water to fill any coolers or trucks.
The deadline is quick approaching (Friday, June 23rd) so if you are interested in participating, please go fill out the entry form online. (http://www.kaysvillecity.com/departments-services/parks-recreation/4th-of-july-parade) . There is a $20 entry fee (no cost for non-profit groups). There will also be an information meeting at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 28th that one representative would need to attend. |
This portion of the parade is a wonderful city tradition but it cannot continue without your help!
Let me know if you have any questions!
